Position Overview
This internship straddles two areas. On the content side, you'll help the team develop short drama topics that fit TikTok's U.S. market by tracking trends, monitoring social media, and researching the American film and TV landscape. On the business side, there's a copyright partnership component where you'll support the team in sourcing content, managing relationships with rights holders, and tracking overseas short drama rankings. It's a research-heavy role that feeds directly into the team's creative and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Help explore and develop short drama topics suited for TikTok's U.S. market, factoring in local culture and audience preferences
- Collect daily intelligence on the U.S. film and TV industry including popular genres, hit titles, emerging creators, and industry policy shifts
- Monitor trending content across major U.S. social platforms, especially TikTok, summarizing popular topics, creative formats, and engagement patterns
- Track major U.S. social events and public conversations, evaluating their potential for adaptation into short drama content
- Compile research materials and analysis reports that provide data support and creative insight for the team's content planning meetings
- Support the creative team on additional content research and development tasks as needed
- Assist with copyright partnership initiatives including content screening, rights holder management, and tracking overseas short drama rankings
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Film and Television Production, Broadcasting, Media Communication, Journalism, or a related field
- Excellent English reading, writing, and comprehension skills with the ability to accurately process and summarize industry information and trend reports
- Strong research and analytical capabilities; able to organize scattered information into structured insights
- Proactive, responsible, collaborative, and able to deliver under pressure
Preferred
- Familiarity with the U.S. film/TV industry and social culture, with a natural instinct for entertainment trends and cultural conversations
- Active user of TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter with the ability to quickly identify and summarize platform trends
- Prior experience in content creation, topic planning, or market research; candidates who have studied or followed short drama content are especially valued
Compensation and Benefits
$23.75/hour. Day-one access to health insurance, life insurance, and wellbeing benefits. 10 paid holidays and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 hours if hired in the second half). Housing allowance may be available for non-remote interns.
