DramaBox is hiring a Head of Business Development to lead U.S. partnership strategy across platforms, distribution, and IP. This is a senior leadership role reporting close to the CEO during a critical phase of the company's American expansion. Hybrid out of Glendale, paying $190K to $230K plus bonus, with full benefits. Over 100 applicants already and they're actively reviewing.

Company Overview

DramaBox is one of the major players in the vertical drama space globally, producing mobile-first series out of hubs in Los Angeles, New York, and Asia. They're already a top app internationally and are now pushing hard into the U.S. market to establish themselves as a leading force in mobile entertainment. The company runs between 51 and 200 employees with over 20,000 LinkedIn followers. High-volume production, global distribution, and rapid content turnaround are central to how they operate.

Position Overview

This is a builder role, not a maintenance role. You'll be architecting DramaBox's entire U.S. partnership ecosystem from the ground up, working hand-in-hand with the CEO and global leadership. The scope covers platform relationships with major mobile and tech companies, content distribution deals across streaming and telecom, IP partnerships that expand the content pipeline, and creator/influencer collaborations that amplify reach. You'll need to be comfortable structuring complex multi-party deals while coordinating internally across content, product, marketing, legal, finance, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with major mobile, tech, and distribution partners as the primary U.S. business development lead for high-value commercial opportunities and long-term alliances
  • Shape the company's U.S. content distribution strategy across streaming platforms, digital channels, telecom operators, and media companies, moving complex partnership deals forward in coordination with internal teams
  • Expand strategic IP partnerships in the U.S. by identifying and prioritizing opportunities that grow the content pipeline and long-term company value, working closely with content and acquisitions
  • Oversee creator, KOL, and influencer partnerships as a channel for content amplification and monetization alongside marketing and growth teams
  • Manage key partnerships end-to-end from structuring through execution, aligning cross-functional stakeholders to ensure deals are strategically sound and scalable
  • Monitor market trends, platform shifts, and competitive moves to inform strategic decisions around deal selection, timing, and resource allocation

Requirements

  • Significant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, or corporate strategy within digital media, entertainment, publishing, streaming, consumer tech, or related industries
  • Track record of structuring and negotiating complex, multi-party deals with senior external stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating with executive-level decision makers and navigating cross-functional dynamics to push high-stakes initiatives forward
  • Effective in fast-moving, evolving environments where strategic thinking and hands-on execution happen simultaneously
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and judgment skills; startup or scale-up experience strongly preferred
  • Cross-border and multicultural experience is valuable; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States with no visa sponsorship needed

Compensation and Benefits

$190,000 to $230,000 annually plus bonus. Benefits include medical insurance, dental, vision, and 401(k).
