Crazy Maple Studio is hiring a Creative Producer to work on ReelShort vertical drama series through their Elastic Heart Studio production arm. This is a full-time contract role based on-site in Culver City at $100K/year. You'll assist the Head of Studio across the full production lifecycle, from script development through post-production and launch. The role demands hands-on set presence, creative notes authority, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in different production stages simultaneously. Romance genre experience is a must.

Position Overview
This is a producer role with real creative ownership. You'll work directly under the Head of Studio overseeing productions from concept through final delivery. On the creative side, that means doing script passes, collaborating with writers and directors on visual concepts, ensuring key scenes land on screen, leading post-production notes through picture lock and final mix, and directing cover and still photoshoots. On the production side, you'll manage casting, location scouting, crew approvals, budgets, schedules, and troubleshooting across multiple concurrent projects. You'll be on set for 12+ hour days, sometimes on weekends, and need to be responsive on DingTalk during business hours. This is not a remote-friendly role.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Manage all phases of production from pre through post, ensuring smooth operations and on-time delivery
- Assist with casting, location scouting, and crew hiring or approval of key personnel presented by production partners
- Monitor production progress, troubleshoot issues, and adjust as needed
- Travel to productions and be present on set for 12+ hour days, including weekends when required
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously at different stages of production
Creative Direction
- Collaborate with writers, directors, and creative team members on visual concepts for each episode
- Ensure scripts are interpreted to meet company goals and maximize mobile audience engagement
- Verify that key scenes and moments execute correctly on set and meet both series and brand standards
- Complete at least one creative and production-focused notes pass on each assigned script
- Provide ongoing creative feedback throughout production to maintain artistic integrity
- Direct cover and still photoshoots during production
- Lead post-production notes on assigned projects including three rounds to picture lock, two rounds of color/sound/subtitle notes, and cross-reviewing other producers' notes for consistency
- Read and familiarize with all scripts entering production and troubleshoot issues with writers before handoff to crew
Team Leadership
- Foster a collaborative environment where team members feel supported and motivated
- Be responsive on DingTalk during work hours (9:30 AM to 5:30 PM PST) and during shoot times
- Attend weekly team meetings and leadership meetings with the Head of Studio
- Lead discussion on wardrobe, locations, and schedules in all production and casting meetings for assigned projects
Quality Assurance
- Maintain the creative vision and quality standards of Elastic Heart Studio across all projects
- Review cuts, provide feedback, and work with the post team to achieve the desired final product
- Ensure deliverables meet technical specs and are optimized for distribution platforms
- Coordinate with the internal product team on final poster concepts and QA each show at least twice before launch
Requirements
- Proven producer experience in film or television with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Demonstrated experience working in the romance genre across film, TV, or other media
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong leadership and communication skills with cross-functional collaboration experience
- Creative vision and the ability to deliver constructive feedback to creative teams
- Knowledge of the film and TV industry including current trends and emerging technologies
- Master's degree in film, communications, or related field preferred but not required
- Minimum 5 years of experience required
