Position Overview

This is a hands-on editing and production role. You'll cut raw footage into polished vertical stories optimized for watch time, retention, and replays across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. The job blends creative editing with a data-driven mindset. You're expected to study performance metrics daily and let analytics inform your cuts. You'll also build multiple variations of the same video to A/B test hooks, pacing, and structure. Think editor-meets-strategist who cares more about what works than what looks impressive.

Key Responsibilities

Transform raw footage into emotionally driven vertical stories for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Craft scroll-stopping hooks in the first one to three seconds. Shape every edit around watch time, retention curves, and replay potential. Apply tasteful post-production polish including VFX, sound design, music, pacing, and color correction. Nothing flashy, everything intentional. Produce multiple edit variations of the same piece to test different hooks, pacing, and structural approaches. Review performance data daily and edit with analytics driving decisions. Work closely with producers and creatives to elevate every piece of content that goes out.

Requirements

Deep understanding of short-form storytelling and what makes vertical content perform. Ability to manufacture emotion fast across humor, tension, heart, and surprise. Can watch a clip and immediately identify the strongest hook. Understands why viewers drop off and knows how to fix retention problems in the edit. Loves experimenting, testing, iterating, and optimizing. Prioritizes results over perfection.
