Position Overview
This is a hands-on editing role covering the full post-production pipeline for vertical drama content. You'll cut episodic series with an eye toward retention and emotional escalation, build compelling hooks and cliffhangers, and handle bilingual post needs including subtitle timing and dialogue clarity across English and Mandarin. Sound design, music placement, and platform-ready exports all fall under the scope.
Key Responsibilities
Cut episodic vertical drama and miniseries content with strong storytelling instincts. Optimize pacing, rhythm, and emotional builds to keep viewers locked in through completion. Construct opening hooks, mid-episode tension, and episode-ending cliffhangers that drive binge behavior. Work closely with producers to refine narrative flow and emotional payoff. Manage bilingual post-production including subtitle timing, dialogue clarity, and language consistency across English and Mandarin. Apply sound design, music placement, transitions, and visual polish. Deliver final exports optimized for vertical 9:16 mobile-first viewing. Turn around revisions quickly based on creative notes and performance data.
Requirements
Proven experience editing vertical dramas or episodic narrative content. Fluent in English with working proficiency in Mandarin for post-production collaboration. Strong sense of emotional beats, pacing, and storytelling structure. Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent professional editing tools. Familiar with mobile-first vertical formats and their technical specs. Able to work independently on freelance timelines with fast turnarounds.
